An
in-vitro digestibility comparison of two liquid supplements
on the dry matter and organic matter digestibility of native
grass hay was conducted by Texas Tech University. The two
liquids used were Anipro's 14% All Natural Protein liquid
and a conventional 32%, high urea liquid.
The study consisted of three groups: a control (grass hay
only), and two treatments; grass hay plus Anipro's 14%
All Natural Protein liquid, and grass hay plus the conventional
32%, high urea liquid. The hay, with and without the liquid
supplements, was then added to rumen fluid from a fistulated
steer and the mixtures were then allowed to incubate for
different time intervals and the digestibility was then
measured.
The results are shown in Figures 1 and 2. These data indicate
that by the inclusion of Anipro's 14% All Natural Protein
liquid there was a 31.8% and a 32.2% increase in dry matter
and organic matter digestibility, respectively, over the
control. Also, these data indicate that Anipro's 14% All
Natural Protein liquid increased digestibility over the
conventional 32%, high urea liquid by 18% and 14.4% for
dry matter and organic matter, respectively.
This research trial indicates that cattlemen can positively
effect the amount of nutrients utilized by cattle on low
quality forages by the inclusion of Anipro's 14% All Natural
Protein liquid.
